Project:
Applying Satellite Images in Taiwan Landslide Interpretation and Disaster Damage Analysis
Commissioned by:
Forestry Bureau, Council of Agriculture Executive Yuan
Abstract:
This project employes Formosat-2 satellite to assess and interpret landslides that occur in Taiwan after natural disaster. With the advanced satellite imagery processing technique, we are able to interpret landslide by using 2 meter resolution Formosat-2 imagery and detect the annual changes of major landslide areas. Moreover, we set up FB Taiwan Landslide Information System by applying Google Earth API technique and publish our satellite imagery and Taiwan landslide layers through this system.
Missions:
- Processing Orthorectified False Color Satellite Imagery and True Color Satellite Imagery of Taiwan
- Landslide Interpretation by Applying Satellite Imagery and Examination
- Establishing Taiwan Landslide Distribution Data from 2004 to 2012
- Annual Analysis and Comparison of Major Landslides
- Rapid Response of Severe Natural Disaster and Satellite Imagery Interpretation
Results:
- Formosat-2 Satellite Orthorectified Mosaic Imagery of Taiwan from 2004 to 2012
- Annual Analysis Result
- FB Taiwan Landslide Information System
